Board of Education Member Comments on Foote’s Excuse for No-Show

October 28th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

Allegany County Board of Education member Wayne Foote, on WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show” last week explaining why he was the lone board member not in attendance Thursday night when the County Commissioners discussed funding for the new Allegany High School. Although Foote suggests the other board members made the decision to attend and failed to invite him, that isn’t the case according to members Laurie Marchini and Sara Beth Bittinger. Both accurately point out that at the school board’s October 13th meeting, there was public discussion about the idea of members attending the next meeting of the commissioners to voice support for funding the project. Both maintain that there was no formal decision or action taken for to attend the commissioners meeting as a board, but rather it was a case of each individual board member making the decision to attend and provide input.
