BoE Member Wayne Foote To Have Telephone Prehearing Conference Today

April 24th, 2019 by WCBC Radio

A settlement could be reached today that brings an end to the controversy surrounding Allegany County Board of Education member Wayne Foote- however that appears an unlikely outcome.  A telephone prehearing conference is scheduled for this afternoon concerning the request to have Foote removed from the board.  The outgoing Allegany County school board made that request via a resolution approved at a special meeting in December.  The state board in February informed Foote that charges will be issued against him. The allegations fall into the categories of breaching the confidentiality of board discussions in executive session, and sexual misconduct and intimidation.  Foote’s attorney, George “Mac” McKinley, tells WCBC News that today’s prehearing is to discuss matters including case settlement and clarifying or limiting appeal issues. While settling the case is an option, McKinley doesn’t anticipate that result today…
