Some of the busiest people running up to midnight on the last day of the year were political candidates who wanted to show strength through financial contributions at a filing deadline.
Former Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley, a presidential candidate, was working the phones, as were 2016 candidates for United States Senate and House of Representatives.
