City Holds Public Session On Possible Plans Of Action For Replacing Bridges

July 17th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

The City of Cumberland held an Open House type public session on possible plans of action of replacing aging bridges over the CSX Railroad on Cumberland, Fayette and Washington Streets, and possibly raising the CSX Bridge over Greene Street.

Troy Creasy is with CSX, and told WCBC News that his company wants city officials to pick an option from several that are, admittedly, not obvious choices…

City engineer John DiFonzo says that there is no timetable for a decision, and even though the bridges are aging and have issues, they are still good enough to be used in the short term.
