City Police Make Arrest After 4th Visit to Same Address

On January 30, 2019, at 9:41 p.m., officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 100 block of Memorial Avenue for a disturbance. This was the fourth complaint involving the same address and Cody Damon, age 28 of Cumberland, within a few hours.  However, during the other complaints Damon had fled the area prior to officers arriving on scene.  At 9:41 p.m. when officers responded for the fourth time, they could hear yet another disturbance coming from inside the property. Officers attempted to contact the occupants; however, Damon refused to allow officers inside, and shut and locked the door.  Another party at the residence allowed officers inside at which time Damon refused to cooperate.  Officers then attempted place Damon under arrest and after a brief struggle they were able to take him into custody. Damon was then charged with disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct, obstructing and hindering, and resisting arrest. Damon was later taken to District Court for his Initial Appearance and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on $1000 bond.
