Cumberland gas prices jump eight cents in past week

June 27th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

An increase in gasoline demand has helped push gas prices higher this week both locally and nationally. If demand continues to trend higher, motorists will likely see pump prices continue to go up through early July. Despite the increase, pump prices are the lowest for this time of year since 2016.

The gas price average in Maryland today is $2.19, which is up respectively five cents in the last week and 18 cents in the last month, but down 39 cents from this date last year.

Today’s national gas price average is $2.17, up respectively six cents in the last week and 21 cents in the last month, but down 51 cents from this time last year.
