It’s an election year for Maryland Sixth District Congressman John Delaney and although he isn’t expected to be seriously challenged in this month’s primary- the GOP is expected to make another strong bid to take back the seat. Delaney, a democrat, defeated republican incumbent Roscoe Bartlett in 2012 by 21 points- however in the 2014 election he narrowly defeated Dan Bongino, edging the former secret service agent by just 1.5%. The district is the largest in the state comprising all of Garrett, Allegany, and Washington counties as well as portions of Montgomery and Frederick counties. The incumbent has conducted a series of constituents meetings throughout the district in the past few months, including a recent visit to both Garrett and Allegany counties.
