Hogan Makes More Changes; Delays Primary Election

The state of Maryland continues to take steps to slow the spread of COVID-19 and on Tuesday Governor Larry Hogan announced that the state’s primary election, originally set for April 28, will move to June 2.  In addition, after Kentucky Derby organizers announced that race's postponement, Hogan said state officials are in talks with The Stronach Group to postpone the Preakness Stakes to sometime in September. Hogan said the decision to change dates for the primary was made with two main priorities in mind: keeping Marylanders safe and protecting their constitutional right to vote.

During the morning press conference, the governor also urged Marylander’s to remain calm and not feel a need to hoard food and empty the shelves of supermarkets…
