Knife Wound Leads To Arrest

On Saturday, January 5th, 2019 the Cumberland Police Department responded to a Fayette Street residence for the report of an assault. When officers arrived, they spoke with a male victim that claimed he was injured during an altercation by Megan Clair Eversole. The victim alleged that during an argument, Eversole came towards him with a knife in her hand and he attempted to grab the knife from her and was cut. Officers did observe an injury on the victim consistent of a knife wound. Officers then spoke with Eversole who also claimed that she was also injured as a result of the confrontation. Officers determined that Eversole was the aggressor and she was arrested. She was charged with 1st and 2nd degree assault. Eversole was taken before the District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held without bond.

On Saturday, January 5th, 2019 the Cumberland Police Department responded to JFK Apartments on N. Mechanic Street for a noise disturbance. When officers arrived, neighbors complained to excessive noise coming from Patrick Michael Maffley’s apartment. Officers contact Maffley and made him aware of the complaints and he was told to keep the peace. As officers attempted to leave, Maffley emerged from his apartment and started another disturbance in the presence of officers. He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Maffley was also found to have an outstanding fugitive from Mineral County, West Virginia that was issued back in June of 2018 for violating conditions of his probation (original charge; illegal transfer of a firearm). He was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center until he can be extradited back to West Virginia.

On Saturday, January 5th, 2019 the Cumberland Police Department responded a Maryland Avenue residence for a domestic disturbance. When officers arrived, they learned that Chelsy Rose Wilt was inside the residence which was a violation of her pretrial release conditions imposed by District Court back on December 3rd, 2018. She was arrested and taken before the District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held on a $2,000 bond.

On Saturday, January 5th, 2019 the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Keith Louis Wilkins. The warrant was issued by District Court when Wilkins failed to appear for trial on December 13th, 2018 to answer to a malicious destruction of property charge. He was taken before the District Court Commissioner and was released on his own personal recognizance.
