On Tuesday, August 11th, 2020 the Cumberland Police responded to the area of Virginia Avenue for the report of a female that got away from a male that had been forcing her to drive him around looking for drugs.  When officers arrived, contact was made with a female victim who stated that she was assaulted by Travis Maurice Peck at a Gateway Terrace address where he also took her phone.  Peck then forced the female drive him to an ATM at a Virginia Avenue business to get money to purchase the drugs.  The female was able to make employees at the business aware of what was happening and the police were notified.  Peck was still on scene when officers arrived, and after questioning the victim and Peck, he was placed under arrest.  He was charged with robbery, assault, carjacking, and theft.  Peck was taken before the District Court Commissioner and was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held without bond.
