Morriss Talks CSX, Rolling Mill, and Council Vacancy

When the new Cumberland City Council takes office next week, the city officials will find little down time as a full agenda awaits them, beginning with filling the vacant council seat. Interviews with the 16 candidates will begin Monday- the same day of the swearing in ceremonies. Mayor-elect Ray Morriss tells WCBC News that the West Side bridges and the Rolling Mill project are just two of the hot button issues on the council’s to do list. Talks with CSX to repair or replace the bridges on Washington, Fayette and Cumberland streets began in earnest last year- and he expects those talks to resume in the near future…

As far as the Rolling Mill project, which will see a commercial development in that section of town,  Morriss says he doesn’t see the few property owner hold-outs delaying that effort…
