Volunteer firefighters from at least five counties were battling a fire Tuesday evening at the Avalon Resort in the Paw Paw area. The Cumberland Times News reports firefighters from Morgan, Hampshire, Mineral, Allegany and Frederick counties were called to the resort at 223 Avalon Road just before 4 p.m. According to its website, Avalon is a clothing-optional resort located on over 140 acres of woodland.

The fire was brought under control and extinguished at 5:00 PM but fire fighters volunteered to remain on the scene.
