On Tuesday, April 20th, 2021 the Cumberland Police Department responded to a Columbia Street residence for the report of an assault. When officers arrived, they could hear a male and female arguing inside. Contact was then made with the male and female. The female told officers the she was arguing with Carl Borher and he punched and elbowed her in the head. Officers could see a recent injury to the female’s face and Carl Borher was arrested. He was charged with assault and taken before the District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held on a $25,000 bond.
