Police Serve Warrant on Juvenile Linked to Armed Robbery

On Tuesday, August 25th, 2020 the Cumberland Police Department served a District Court warrant on a 17 year old juvenile male.  The warrant was the result of an incident that took place back on July 24th, 2020 at a Grand Avenue residence; where police were called for a breaking and entering.  When police arrived, contact was made with 2 victims who stated that 4 unknown males forced open an exterior door, assaulted them, and took their cellular phones.   The males were armed with handguns and fled before police arrived.   The 17 year old juvenile male was eventually identified as one of the suspects.  He was charged with home invasion, armed robbery, robbery, 1st degree assault, 2nd degree assault, 1st degree burglary, 4th degree burglary, firearm in use of a violent crime, theft, trespassing, and malicious destruction of property.  He was presented before the District Court Commissioner and was held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.
