Providing Tips On Crime To the Allegany/Mineral County Crime Solvers Encouraged

In the past week alone, there have been two home invasions and a series of armed robberies in the region- and while several arrests have been made- the rash of incidents of violent crime is extending the resources of local law enforcement to its limits. While citizens getting actively involved in locating suspects is strongly discouraged- tips are always welcome via the Allegany/Mineral County Crime Solvers groups, The two counties merged the operation in 2008, to form one organization, with a purpose to form a liaison between the group and law enforcement officials. Although its been around for 30 years now, Ray Presley, former commander of the LaVale State Police Barracks, tells WCBC News that some people still aren’t aware of the option of providing vital information anonymously. He says by using a hotline number, callers can give “valuable information, leading to an arrest, conviction of an offender, or closure of a case” and they will be rewarded…
