Race Street Disturance leads to Drug Arrest

The Cumberland City Police Department responded to the 100 block of Race St for the report of a loud noise disturbance. Upon arrival, officers contacted the resident at the home in question and advised him to stop creating a disturbance. The resident complied and Officers cleared the scene at this time. Throughout the night, officers had to respond to the residence on two more occasions, each time for the report of a loud disturbance. As a result, Edward Wayne McDaniel, 58, was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters for processing. Once at PH, McDaniel was also found to be in possession of a quantity of Alprazolam, a Controlled Dangerous Substance. McDaniel was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance where he was released on his own personal recognizance.

Charges: CD Possession-not Marijuana, Disturbing the Peace, Failure to Obey.
