Rising Cost of EMS in County Needs Addressed

Allegany County officials hope to find some answers to the growing cost of emergency medical services. Finance Director Jason Bennett said the county spent $2.8 million on EMS last year- after having allocated just  $600,000 the prior year. The reason for the spike was the county's need to take over the struggling Frostburg EMS operation. While some federal grant dollars may help,  Bennett said that it’s only temporary relief as action will need to be taken to reduce the rising cost of EMS countywide…
