Second Coronavirus case reported in Allegany County

April 1st, 2020 by WCBC Radio

The Allegany County Health Department reports that a second Allegany County resident has tested positive for COVID-19.  The individual is a female in her 20s who recently traveled out of state.  She is self-isolating and has not required hospitalization.

Upon notification of a positive case, the Allegany County Health Department begins a contact investigation.  During the contact investigation, the Health Department conducts interviews to determine where the patient has been and who she has been in contact with.  The Health Department then notifies all individuals who came in contact with the patient while she was infectious.  Individuals who came in contact with the patient must self-isolate or quarantine for 14 days.

    Unanswered questions;

    When was the test given?
    Where was the test given?
    Did she know to be tested because of other contact?
    Was this contact tested and found positive?
    How long between taking test and results?

    No names or other identifiers are needed but all of those questions can and should be answered.

      Mac, those are the questions and strategies that the entire country should be asking in terms of a nationwide plan to abate the virus. I realize it’s a huge task but anything short of what you mentioned will not abate the virus. It will go on for months and months.

    It was coming sooner or later. With many with bad health and a much older population. Keeping everyone at home won’t work much longer. Everyone who rents a home not many have central A/C

    So it’s begun. I fear this area will be hit hard, with so many in ill health & being older as mentioned. Plus add in the fact that so many local Trumptards are STILL running around like nothing is amiss because they think it’s all an evil ‘Demo-rat/media plot to make their Dear Leader look bad!!’ Too bad the virus won’t be confined to these ignorant, hateful morons and that many innocents will now suffer because of them!

      I’m so glad YOU are not a “ignorant, hateful moron”. We all see your “love” oozing out of you. I’ll pray that you will learn to love or at least tolerate someone who disagrees with you. I assume that you are NOT a liberal because they are ALL so TOLERANT.

    B.S. They will then notify those folks that they learned about in their interviews and can find. This will likely be a small subset of all individuals who came in contact with the patient while she was infectious.

    Mk your response is totally unacceptable. We are in a national pandemic. Stop the politics and name calling. Remember when you pass judgment on others God will have the last day on you.

      It’s sad that April doesn’t recognize that she is passing judgement even as she warns of it’s consequences and doesn’t comment on the person who began the name calling and hate earlier in the thread.
