Storm Impacts on Maryland

March 15th, 2017 by WCBC Radio

Marylanders experienced their first major snow storm of the winter on Tuesday. WBAL reports snowfall totals varied across the state and most residents got the day off from work and school. Though, a number of people were negatively affected by the nor'easter. MedStar Union Memorial Hospital reports that it treated four people in the Emergency Department. The roads weren't much different. In one Maryland county, fire officials say there were 19 car wrecks from 2:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. as the storm rolled on. The winter weather also wrecked havoc on many people's travel plans with cancellations or delays for those traveling by planes and trains. Hundreds of flights were cancelled at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport and there were limited options from Amtrak Acela Express service in the northeast.
