Traffic stop leads to heroin bust in Frostburg

On July 21st, 2020, at approximately 2.a.m., deputies with the Allegany County Sheriff's office conducted a traffic stop in the area of Rt. 36, Frostburg, MD. Upon making contact with the operator of the vehicle, deputies observed indicators of  possible criminal activity. 

At that time a Sheriff's Office K9 team was requested to respond to the scene. A sniff of the vehicle by the K9 led to a probable cause search. The search revealed seven (7) individual baggies of suspected heroin.  

As a result , Robert R. McDaniel,( 45, of Galena, OH ) was placed under arrest. McDaniel was later released on his personal recognizance by a District Court Commissioner following his initial appearance.   

Charges:

1 count- Possession of CDS not Marijuana
