Traffic Stop Leads to Multiple CDS Arrests

On Tuesday, October 8th, 2019 a Cumberland Police Officer stopped a vehicle on W/B I-68 at Greene Street exit for speeding.  The officer made contact with the driver identified as Kathleen Williams.  During the course of the traffic stop, a K-9 was requested and responded.  The k-9 alerted for the presence of CDS.  All occupants were asked to exit the vehicle so a search could be conducted.  While officers were conducting a search, a male who identified himself as Jerald Main Boyd fled from officers on foot.  Officers gave chase and Boyd was apprehended.  The search of the vehicle revealed some CDS paraphernalia and a large sum of currency was also located on Boyd.  He was charged possession of CDS paraphernalia, obstructing and hindering, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and fleeing and eluding on foot.  Kathleen Williams and another passenger, Jacqueline Carder, were both charged with possession of CDS paraphernalia and cited and released.  Boyd was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center to await a bond review before the District Court Commissioner.
