Woman Arrested After Concealing Heroin in Shoe

October 30th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

On Thursday, October 29th, 2020 a Cumberland Police Officer on patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the area of Industrial Blvd.  Upon contacting the driver, the officer made the driver aware of the reason for the stop.  A records check through the MVA showed a registration discrepancy on the vehicle.  While the officer sorted out the issue with the registration, a K-9 officer arrived to assist.  A free-air-sniff around the vehicle was performed by the K-9 and resulted in a positive alert for the presence of CDS.  The driver and passengers were then subject to a search in which rear passenger, Stephanie Michelle Faith, told officers that she had a quantity of heroin mixed with fentanyl concealed in her shoe.  This is commonly known on the street as “scramble”.  The CDS was located and seized and faith was arrested.  She was charged with 2 counts of possession of CDS not marihuana.  Faith was taken before the District Court Commissioner for an initial her appearance and was released on an unsecured bond pending trial.
