Trespassing Charged
On August 16th, 2025 at approximately 12:00 p.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to an address on Pulaski Street for a complaint of trespassing. Upon arrival officers located Lisa Flor Breiterman inside the address that was conspicuously posted, "No Trespassing. uninhabitable for human habitation," by the City of Cumberland. Breiterman was placed under arrest and issued a citation for trespassing. She was then released pending trial at District Court. Treasurer Pack Announces First Semester Funding Available for Hope Scholarship Students
W.Va. State Treasurer Larry Pack, who serves as Chairman of the Hope Scholarship Board, today announced Hope Scholarship first semester funding is available for participating students to use for the 2025-2026 academic year. “My Office is excited to award our Hope families with these funds so they can begin finding the education that fits their child’s unique needs,” Treasurer Pack said. “Participants now have access to make purchases through the program’s online portal. West Virginia National Guard to Support Initiative to Make D.C. Safe and Beautiful
At the request of the Trump administration, Governor Patrick Morrisey has directed the West Virginia National Guard (WVNG) to support the President’s initiative to restore cleanliness and safety to Washington, D.C. Under the command of West Virginia Adjutant General Maj. Gen. Jim Seward, the WVNG will deploy troops to the nation’s capital as a show of commitment to public safety and regional cooperation. Columbia Avenue DUI Arrest
On August 16th, 2025, at approximately 0130 hours an officer observed a vehicle fail to stop at a clearly marked stop sign on Columbia Avenue. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Davian Isaiah Little. Little showed signs of impairment and smelled of an alcoholic beverage. He was offered Standardized Field Sobriety tests and based on the officer’s observations was placed under arrest for DUI/DWI.
