BENCH WARRANT SERVED
On Wednesday, April 3, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Mary Eccles. The warrant was issued as the result of Eccles failing to appear in court. She was originally charged with Malicious Destruction of Property less than $1,000 and Disorderly Conduct. Eccles was arrested and transported to Central Booking. She was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and released on her personal recognizance. ARRESTED: Mary Grace Eccles AGE: 32 Cumberland, MD

WV AG Urges Residents To Watch for Scammer Repair Companies
West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey is urging residents faced with damages following the line of storms this week that brought strong winds and heavy rain in certain parts of the state to be cautious when hiring help to make repairs. “Strong winds and heavy rain caused varying degrees of damage in some parts of West Virginia,” Attorney General Morrisey said. “Consumers have begun surveying damage and planning for repairs or rebuilding.” “Sadly, scammers will take advantage of the situation and prey upon those already facing hardship. Route 40 In the Narrows Closed – UPDATED
According to Allegany County Emergency Services, Rt 40 is closed in the narrows, pole & lines down. The Cumberland Police Dept. would like to notify the public that the Narrows, US Route 40, will be closed for an extended period of time due to power lines down in the roadway. We ask that you seek an alternative route and avoid the area.
