On Wednesday, April 3, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Mary Eccles. The warrant was issued as the result of Eccles failing to appear in court. She was originally charged with Malicious Destruction of Property less than $1,000 and Disorderly Conduct. Eccles was arrested and transported to Central Booking. According to Allegany County Emergency Services, Rt 40 is closed in the narrows, pole & lines down. The Cumberland Police Dept. would like to notify the public that the Narrows, US Route 40, will be closed for an extended period of time due to power lines down in the roadway.
