Former Cumberland City Council member Dellann Dugan Fultz (Campbell) has passed away. Dellann was a 1955 graduate of Fort Hill High School. Dellann retired as manager of the Cumberland Arms Apartments, where she had worked for 28 years. She was also a former member of the Cumberland City Council. Dellann was 86. Services were private

Springfield man charged with DUI in crash that kills 2

West Virginia State Police said Monday, two people were killed and a suspected drunken driver arrested following a two-vehicle accident Saturday evening on state Route 28 near Springfield. The crash happened about 6:20 p.m. just south of the Hampshire County town. WV AG Files Motion to Intervene in Challenge to State’s Abortion Law

West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey on Friday filed a motion to intervene in a federal lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the state’s abortion law.   The lawsuit, filed recently by the Women’s Health Center of West Virginia against the president and secretary of the West Virginia Board of Medicine, claims the state’s new abortion law violates the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.   “We have a strong case and we are ready to defend West Virginia’s abortion law to the fullest,” Attorney General Morrisey said. “As your first pro-life state Attorney General, I will stand strong for the life…

Orioles CEO hopes for a new lease deal soon

WBAL reports now that Gov. Wes Moore has named a new head of the Maryland Stadium Authority, Orioles' CEO and Chairman John Angelos has said he's hoping a deal happens soon. Angelos told reporters on Sunday that he's anxious for an extension of the lease agreement at Camden Yards. "I'd love to have that as an All-Star Break gift for everybody in the community," Angelos said. City woman charged with theft

On February 17th, 2023 the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Tifenie Broadwater. The summons was issued as a result of a private citizen filing charges on Broadwater at District Court. Broadwater signed for a copy of her charges and was released pending trial at District Court. Town hall meeting on Downtown Mall redesign is Thursday

This Thursday, downtown residents and business owners are invited to a town hall meeting to learn more about construction expected to begin on the pedestrian mall in April- and to have any questions they may have- addressed. The meeting will be held in the Allegany High School theater at 900 Seton Drive at 6 p.m.  The $15 million Baltimore Street Redevelopment Project has been years in the making, first discussed in 2015. Governor Justice confident in State Police despite ongoing probe

A WCHS News investigation over the past several months has revealed alleged wrongdoing by members of the West Virginia State Police.
