On Saturday morning, Cumberland Police responded to a business in the 700 block of Park Street for a theft complaint.
Upon arrival officers made contact with Tara Crawford, age 33 of Cumberland, Maryland, and store employees. Officers learned that Crawford and a male subject had bagged up grocery items and walked out the business without paying. When they were approached by employees the male suspect fled the area, but Crawford remained on the property.
Subsequently, Crawford was arrested and charged on a Criminal Citation for theft under $100. She was then released pending trial in District Court.
Officers investigating the incident have identified the male and charges are pending.
