Hogan Delivers State of State to General Assembly

In his fifth State of the State address–and first of his second term—Maryland Governor Larry Hogan proposed tax cuts and highlighted efforts against violent crime and drug abuse. Hogan presented the speech- which ran just over a half hour-  to a joint session of the General Assembly on Wednesday afternoon.  Hogan said the tax reliefs would be aimed at helping retirees, working parents, student loan debtors and small business owners, as well as tax incentive and workforce development aimed at Marylanders in federally-designated opportunity zones.  Another theme sounded through the governor’s address was how Democrats and Republicans in Maryland, unlike their federal counterparts in nearby Washington, have been working together to find common ground solutions to real problems…
