U.S. Senator Barbara A. They also discussed their work to grow the region’s biotech industry, which helps keep families safe and healthy while also supporting hundreds of health research, innovation and manufacturing jobs in Frederick.

“As the Dean of the Maryland Congressional Delegation, I’m committed to working with County Executive Gardner to help Frederick County families and communities get ahead, and not just get by,” Senator Mikulski said. “I’m fighting for Frederick County jobs by standing up for our unique federal assets, our dynamic private sector and leading educational institutions that are preparing students in fields like STEM education for jobs that are available now. We are Team Maryland, from Frederick County to Washington. I look forward to working with County Executive Gardner to support jobs and opportunity for Maryland families.”

“We were pleased to welcome U.S. Senator Barbara Mikulski to Frederick County to discuss a wide range of issues related to our nationally recognized school system, opportunities to foster long-term economic prosperity and jobs, improvements needed to affordable housing, and better understanding the needs of our changing demographics with our seniors as the fastest growing group.  We also shared with her about the recent accreditation of the Frederick County Health Department, our work toward public-private partnerships with Fort Detrick and other areas such as coordinated efforts to address the substance abuse and Heroin crisis.  We appreciate our strong working partnership with Senator Mikulski to solve issues important to our citizens,” said Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner.
