Although there were a record number of COVID-19 cases in West Virginia in the past 24 hours- and 23 additional deaths- Mineral County's numbers improved slightly dropping from red or orange on the state's COVID education map. Orange still does not allow for in person instruction or extra curricular activities. Coaches in the county remain hopeful that the numbers will improve enough in the coming days to allow for football games to be played this weekend.
