CRIMINAL SUMMONS SERVED

On Monday, June 5, 2023, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Ashley Kline.  The summons was issued in connection with an incident that occurred on May 24, 2023.  On this date, at approximately 10:19 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 900 block of Old Williams Rd. for the report of a burglary in progress.  Officers arrived and learned that no burglary had occurred and that the caller, Ashley Kline, had made a false report.  Police filed for charges against Kline at the District Court of Allegany County.  Kline signed for…

BODY ATTACHMENT SERVED

On Monday, June 5, 2023, the Cumberland Police Department served a body attachment on Brandon Robinson.  The body attachment was issued as the result of Robinson failing to appear for court on May 31, 2023.     Robinson was arrested and transported to Central Booking.  He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and released on his personal recognizance. West Virginia Senator Manchin moving the Mountain Valley Pipeline project forward

ANCHOR Group Warns of Large Turbines

According to ANCHOR, a citizen’s group opposed to the placement of wind turbines on Dan’s Mountain, work is continuing to place the turbines there.  The group has seen road improvements and clear cutting of timber on the mountain as signs of progression.  Darlene Park of Anchor told WCBC what she has found out about the size of the turbines to be placed on Dan’s Mountain. First Responders Can Get Park & Trail Discount

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources announced state resident first responders and law enforcement officers will receive a $40 discount for an Annual State Park and Trail Passport. The passport, which allows unlimited day-use entry for all of Maryland’s state parks and park facilities for one year, is otherwise available for $75 for in-state residents.  Park passes may be purchased at the Maryland Department of Natural Resources online store. To be eligible for the discounted price of $35, the purchaser will be required to present identification or other credentials as a first responder along with proof of Maryland residency.
