State and Federal highways have been treated and the road surface are in good condition. MDOT has 59 snow plows operating in the state of Maryland. In Allegany County there are presently 8 MDOT snow plows in operation, Garrett County 10. Primary surface streets around the county have also been treated and remain in good condition this morning. Secondary streets as well as neighborhood streets remain unplowed are traded. In downtown, City of Cumberland parking lots as well as sidewalks remain untreated are plowed.

Drivers simply unprepared for the road conditions and sudden snowfall with several running out of fuel while waiting roadside for the weather to pass. On January 6th, Officers form the Cumberland Police Department (CPD) were dispatched to an assault victim on Willowbrook Road. Upon arrival Officers conducted an investigation which led Officers to a residence on the 500 block of Bedford Street.
