O’Malley Continues Democratic Leadership Role

October 7th, 2012 by WCBC Radio

Martin O’Malley is often mentioned as a potential presidential candidate in 2016, and when asked last week if he might run, he offered the usual “I’m too busy being governor of Maryland” response. But Governor O’Malley didn’t rule it out. And when asked whether he’s had any discussion with his family, he allowed that the subject has come up with his two college-age daughters. O’Malley is making the network rounds promoting the Obama agenda as chair of the Democratic Governors Association. He gained a nationalhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png spotlight for shepherding same-sex marriage through the General Assembly and signing the bill into law. Now he’s billed as a hot prospect to succeed President Obama in the 2016 presidential election at a national press briefing on Friday. When asked last week what he could say about a possible run for the White House, O’Malley shifted the discussion to his current agenda.
