Property Damage Arrest In Frostburg

March 14th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

On Friday, March 13, 2015, at approximately 0857 Hours, the Frostburg Police Department responded to a
residence on the 100 block of Bowery Street for a report of damaged property. The complainant and
witnesses directed the officers to an exterior porch/awning structure which was attached to the residence, and
which had been substantially damaged sometime overnight. Upon examining the scene, officers found evidence that the damage had been caused by a vehicle crashing into the home. Officers further discovered a license plate that was left behind in the area of the damage. With the information from the license plate, officers determined the local residence of the suspect and proceeded there. Upon arrival, police observed a vehicle bearing the matching license plate, and they also observed damage to the vehicle, consistent with the damage at the scene. Officers located and spoke with the suspect driver. He was identified as Cameron Scott Briscoe, 21, of Owings Mills, Maryland. Through the observations at the scene, interviews conducted, and the observation of damage to Brisocoe’s vehicle, police determined that Briscoe had been driving the vehicle, crashed into the residence, and left the scene without notifying the occupants or the police. The crash is believed to have occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. on March 13, 2015. Police charged Briscoe with negligent driving and five additional traffic charges relating to hit & run. Briscoe was issued citations by police, and is free pending an appearance in District Court. The investigation was conducted by lead investigator Corporal D. Seekford and Sergeant N. Costello. The residence that was struck in this case was attended to by the property owner, and the building itself is reported to be stable and safe.
