CDS ARREST & BENCH WARRANTS SERVED

On Monday, April 10, 2023, the Cumberland Police Department served two bench warrants on Patrick Martin Jr.  The warrants were issued as the result of Martin violating his probation.   In one case, he was originally charged with CDS Admin Equip Poss/Dist. In the other case, he was originally charged with Burglary-4th Degree Theft, Theft: $100 to under $1,500.   Martin was arrested and later transported to Central Booking.  A search of Martin revealed that he was in possession of suspected crack cocaine and CDS paraphernalia. CRIMINAL SUMMONS SERVED

On Monday, April 10, 2023, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Christina Lytle.  The summons was issued as the result of an incident that occurred on April 3, 2023.  On this date at approximately 2:34 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 400 block of Chestnut Street for a firearms complaint.  It was reported that a male subject had a gun and was waving it around.  Police contacted the caller, Christina Lytle, who told officers that the subject did not have a gun in his possession and that she reported the gun for faster…

Church youth worker charged with Seven counts of sexual offenses with 13 year old

Seven counts of sexual offenses have been brought against a local church youth worker involving conduct with a 13-year old girl.  Trey Allen Magee, 23, was charged on April 5th following an investigation by C3I after the child’s parents contacted the Maryland State Police. The charges are linked to an incident that occurred at the minor’s home on March 28th and include third-degree sexual offense, 4th degree sexual offense, and assault in the second degree.  Magee was released on a $15,000 bond.  The investigation is continuing.

Statewide Tornado drill will begin around 10AM Wednesday

From April 10-16 is Maryland Severe Storms Awareness Week. The Maryland Department of Emergency Management and the National Weather Service are urging residents to be aware of the most common spring weather hazards and how to prepare for and protect against them. On Wednesday, April 12, the Great Maryland Twister Test tornado drill will begin around 10AM. WCBC will also be testing our Emergency Alert System and encourages listeners to test your family or business emergency plan. Senator McKay checked in on last day of the legislative session in Annapolis

Senator Mike McKay checked in on the Dave Norman show Monday morning to review what is happening on the last day of the legislative session in Annapolis.  Two carry/conceal gun bills will be going to Governor Moore for signature, but those bills will immediately face a legal challenge in the state court system as being unconstitutional.

The theme of National Library Week this year is “There’s more to the story…”  illustrating the fact that in addition to the books in library collections, libraries offer so much more. Columbia St arrest

On Sunday, April 9th, 2023, The Cumberland City Police responded to a vacant residence in the 200 block of Columbia St for a trespassing complaint. Upon arrival on scene, officers located three subjects that had entered the vacant home, claiming to have permission from the owner. Also at this time, the three subjects were found to be in possession of CDS paraphernalia and an amount of suspected methamphetamine. Greene St for a disturbance leads to arrest

On Sunday, April 9th, 2023, The Cumberland City Police responded to a residence in the 600 block of Greene St for a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the caller who advised they were mowing grass. They stated that a neighbor came outside and confronted them about dust being generated by the mowing they were doing. They advised the subject became irate and started to threaten them. It was then reported that the subject produced a handgun, pointing it at the caller. Officers then contacted the suspect and located a BB gun, matching the description given by the caller….

Arrest Warrant Report

On Sunday, April 9th, 2023, The Cumberland City Police arrested Benjamin Jacob Reimer, 42, of Cumberland MD. Reimer was arrested on an active Arrest Warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court for an incident that occurred on November 28th, 2022. During that incident, officers responded to a property in the 400 block of Greene St. The owner of the property advised officers that they had stopped by to do some maintenance to the property and discovered Reimer inside a utility room to the rear of the property.
