1967 Class of Allegany High School Wants Historic Landmark
The Allegany High School class of 1967 has asked the county to have a historic landmark placed at the old high school site. Hollidaysburg Man Charged With Antisemitic Actions in Altoona
Authorities in Blair County, Pennsylvania say a Hollidaysburg man is facing vandalism and intimidation charges after he was reportedly caught on video placing an antisemitic "monument" outside a local synagogue. Altoona police say 35-year-old Joseph Fox Jr. is accused of stealing a white, wooden cross statue and leaving it outside a synagogue, located along 17th Street. According to the affidavit, police were contacted to investigate the alleged act of antisemitism after a staff member reportedly discovered the cross outside the temple on the morning of September 4th.
Wes Moore Proclaims No Presidential Bid in 2028
On Sunday’s “Meet the Press”, Maryland Governor Wes Moore seemed more adamant than usual regarding the possibility of running for president in 2028. Moore initially indicated his plans to run again for governor next year. He added that he plans to serve a full, four year term. Host Kristen Welker asked repeatedly about a presidential bid and the governor was insistent that he planned to stay as the state's chief executive.
High School Soccer Debuts on WCBC FM Tuesday
WCBC FM, Classic Hits 107, will broadcast a soccer doubleheader Tuesday evening. The first match will be at 5 p.m. and will feature the Allegany girls vs. the Fort Hill girls. The nightcap at 7 p.m. features the boys teams. Jim Zamagias and veteran soccer coach Jim Hott will provide coverage.
Paca Street Trespassing Arrest
On Sunday, September 7th, 2025, the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 200 block of Paca St for the report of a male trespassing. Upon arrival, officers contacted the resident, who advised that a male inside the home would not leave when asked to do so. They also advised that the subject had been previously issued a "no trespassing" order for the property as well. Officers then confirmed the validity of the order and as a result, William Allen McKnew, 69, of Cumberland MD, was placed under arrest. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner for…
