On November 20th, 2022, The Cumberland City responded to a residence in the 400 block of Bond St for the report of an assault. Upon arrival on scene, officers contacted the victims of the alleged assault. Officers learned that an argument had broken out inside the residence between the victim and suspect. The argument had de-escalated and the victim attempted to go to bed for the evening. Allegany County commission approved two supplemental assistant grants for upgrades to the Flintstone and Old Town wastewater treatment plants during Thursday meeting. The Maryland Department of Environment is providing 1.5 million dollars well $375,000 will come from the Comprehensive Flood Management Grant for each facility. November is Diabetes Awareness month and Allegany County Commissioners received a presentation on the impact of the disease in Allegany County. 23% of Americans have diabetes but have not been diagnosed according to the CDC, 8 out of 10 people do not realize they have pre-diabetes in America. On Sunday, November 20th, 2022 at 1137 hours, the Maryland State Police, McHenry Barrack, received a complaint of a 'road rage' incident that reportedly occurred on Interstate 68 eastbound at the 27 mile marker, near the Allegany County line. Initial reports indicated that the male operator of an Acura SUV pointed a pistol at another motorist during the incident before continuing east into Allegany County.
