Qualifying organizations from Allegany, Garrett, Hampshire and Mineral Counties are requested to outline their programming to demonstrate how a United Way partnership specifically provides an outcome in one of the following areas: health, education and financial stability, and/or addressing the needs of ALICE households. Decatur Street Theft
On Saturday, February 3, 2024 at approximately 11:00 AM, an officer of the Cumberland Police Department took the report of a theft that occurred in the 100 block of Decatur Street. The victim reported that someone stole a black suitcase that had been left on the sidewalk. Gov. Justice announces FY 2024 revenue collections $458 million ahead of estimate
Gov. Justice announced that West Virginia’s General Revenue collections for January 2024, the seventh month of Fiscal Year 2024, came in at $531 million, which is $52.3 million above the official estimate. Cumulative collections for Fiscal Year 2024 of more than $3.297 billion stand at $458.7 million ahead of the cumulative estimate. "West Virginia's economy continues to defy expectations,” Gov. Women’s Distance Medley Relay Breaks 41-Year Old Record at Youngstown Invite
Frostburg State Women's Track & Field team competed at the Youngstown Mid-Major Invitational over the course of Friday and Saturday, turning in a number of personal records during the meet. The distance medley relay team of freshmen Paige Etnoyer, Isabella Mastria, and Emily Wishart and sophomore Alana Dyce-Giraud set a new school record in 13:02.51, which was good enough for third place and breaking the previous mark of 13:12.50 set in 1982. BENCH WARRANTS SERVED On Friday, February 2, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department served three Circuit Court bench warrants on Logan McDaniel. Two of the warrants were issued as the result of McDaniel failing to appear in court. The other warrant was issued due to McDaniel violating pre-trial release. McDaniel has original charges of Possess Child Pornography and CDS: Possess-Not Marijuana. Pennsylvania State Police Sees Another Significant Boost in Cadet Applications
The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) today announced its most recent cadet selection cycle yielded 1,830 applicants eligible for the state trooper exam, another substantive increase in applications nearly six months after Governor Shapiro waived the college credit requirement for applicants.
