On Tuesday, September 30th, 2025, the Cumberland Police Department arrested Mecca Isiaah Pulley, 21, of Cumberland MD. Pulley was arrested on an active Bench Warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court on September 24th, 2025. The warrant alleges Pulley violated the terms and conditions of probation that had been placed upon him due to a previous conviction on theft charges. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held on $500 bond. Elijah James Twigg, 14, W/M, has been reported to the Cumberland Police Department as a missing/runaway juvenile. Twigg was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, grey sweatpants, and Nike shoes. He was last seen in the south Cumberland area at around 6 p.m. on 9/30/25. New laws taking effect today in Maryland focus on reckless and aggressive driving. Driving 30 miles over the speed limit can now be classified as reckless driving with fines up to $1,000. Multiple minor violations in a single drive can now lead to aggressive driving charges, license points, and higher fines. Rules around speed monitoring systems are also changing with a new tiered-fine system with fines starting at $40 and going as high as $425.
